The Books Beyond Borders program will be targeted to youth, opinion leaders, and educators in the South Asia region.

Sessions for each book will last for 6 to 12 sessions, which might be 4 to 6 weeks depending on the facilitator. Each book will have a different timeline. 

Every month, we read a new book. You only need to sign up for a book once. To attend a new book discussion, you must sign up for the registration form. 

Yes! Once you sign up, you will be receiving a Zoom link to participate in the book club. The book club will follow Nepali time. Please remember that Nepal is 5.75 hours ahead of GMT (UTC) so please check your local time to participate.

Book Beyond Borders started in July 2019 to engage youth networks across South and Central Asian countries. It was started as a collaborative program by American Spaces in Nepal and India in response to the global pandemic.

Since the books and timing are pre-scheduled, we suggest you attend the discussions at the given time. 

The books will following themes: 

• Free speech 

• Democratic practices 
• Social and civic issues
• Economic development
• Climate change
• Migration

The books to discuss will be scheduled by the Book Bus team early, but you can definitely suggest them during the sessions. You never know if the facilitator might take you up on it!

Books Beyond Borders will not be providing physical copies of the books. But once you sign up and get added to the Google Classroom, we will share a link to the ebook. 

If you join at least nine sessions, then we will provide you with a certificate. Bonus: If you’re an exceptional reader and contribute in making the discussions lively, we might send you a special badge. 

Discussions are scheduled from one to two hours.
